Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEIC to JPG for free?

Drop your .heic files onto the box above (or click to choose), pick JPG or PNG, and click Convert. Each image is decoded and re-encoded inside your browser, then you download the results — individually or as a single ZIP.

Is there a limit on how many files or how large?

No. Because the conversion runs on your own device rather than a server, there is no per-file size cap and no daily quota. Very large batches are limited only by your computer’s memory.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Unlike most HEIC converters, nothing is uploaded. The decoding uses a WebAssembly build of libheif that runs entirely in your browser, so your photos never leave your device.

What is HEIC and why won’t my photos open on Windows?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the format iPhones use by default. It saves space but is not supported everywhere, especially on older Windows and many web apps. Converting to JPG makes the photos open anywhere.

Does it keep the photo quality?

Yes. You choose the JPG quality (default 92%), and PNG output is lossless. The full image resolution is preserved.
